As a logistics company, sustainability and environmental protection are integral parts of our corporate strategy.
Environmental protection
We at mds strictly adhere to responsible practices in dealing with the environment and natural resources. Waste management, the reduction of energy consumption or CO2 emissions: these goals are an important part of our company policy. Over the last few years, we have implemented processes to improve our ecological balance. Some examples:
- Rooftop solar panel installation for energy production
- Energy-efficient lighting technology
- e-forklifts with regenerative braking technology
- Economical use of heating/lighting/paper, e.g. no printed pick lists or orders, thus reducing consumables (paper reams, toner, drums, etc.) by voice picking and scanning
Environmental protection is not just a one-off project at mds, but a permanent one. An internal environmental officer monitors sustainability initiatives across all areas of operations and looks for continual improvement. mds has won an award as “ÖKOPROFIT business” for its energy policies by the city of Mainz.
